The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) is a vital membership organization representing the nation's dedicated family planning providers - nurses, nurse practioners, clinic directors and other key health care providers.
NFPRHA serves its members by providing advocacy, education and training for those in the family planning and reproductive health care field. For more than 35 years, NFPRHA members have provided comprehensive preventive health care services at nearly 4,000 clinics to about 4 million women annually.
Many of their member clinics receive funding under Title X (ten) of the Federal Public Health Services Act, a critical component of the nation's public health infrastructure that is the only federally funded, dedicated family planning program for the low-income and uninsured.
Title X clinics are at the forefront of efforts to reduce rates of unintended pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, and breast and cervical cancers. Last year alone, Title X services enabled women to avoid one million unintended pregnancies, nearly half of which would have ended in abortion. The Title X system is the entry point into the health care system for millions of American men and women.
