| Manages the Division of Disease Prevention's (DDP) Expanded and Integrated HIV Testing for Populations Disproportionately Affected by HIV, Primarily African Americans Cooperative Agreement and acts as the liaison to participating testing venues (i.e., clinics in city and county jails, hospitals, community health centers, substance abuse shelters, etc.) regarding HIV, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and hepatitis screening services. Negotiates logistics and contract terms; conducts site visits; interprets guidelines and policies; assesses need for screening services; develops and monitors the achievement of grant objectives; coordinates activities relative to jail-based surveillance and investigation; ensures quality assurance; provides technical assistance and training; and develops and monitors budget, contracts and invoices. Oversees program development, planning, monitoring and analysis; manages grant activities; recommends policies and procedures; conducts program research; and evaluates changes in rules, regulations and legislative proposals for impact on service delivery. As needed, counsels infected patients and conducts partner referral activities. Conducts investigative follow-up as necessary. Documents results on appropriate case management and epidemiological forms. |
