This position is based in Richmond, Virginia. Manages the Division of Disease Prevention (DDP) Chlamydia/Gonorrhea Screening Programs. Serves as the DDP's liaison to local health departments and the Virginia Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services; interprets guidelines, policies and procedures; recommends statewide criteria and standards for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea screening; develops and monitors the achievement of grant objectives; coordinates activities relative to data collection and reporting; oversees quality assurance activities; provides technical assistance; and monitors activities for screening sites, budget and contracting issues, and laboratory contracts.   Knowledge of public health practices; epidemiology and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs); quality assurance techniques; laws, regulations, procedures and test technologies related to disease reporting and control; and state procurement and grants guidelines. Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, investigative, motivational, program evaluation and computer (i.e., database management and reporting) skills. Ability to analyze and interpret STD epidemiologic data; effectively oversee the work of others; monitor budgets and contracts; conduct training; prepare reports; problem solve; make sound decisions; provide technical assistance; and work as part of a team and independently at various hours in potentially hostile environments. Degree in a health related field and/or related training and experience. Experience working in STD control or epidemiology.   Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
