The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD), the American Social Health Association (ASHA), and the American STD Association (ASTDA), together with the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD), conducted a concept mapping process to identify high-priority, national policy initiatives to reduce HIV/AIDS and STD transmission.
Sexually transmitted disease (STD) directors, HIV/AIDS directors, advocates, and researchers were invited to brainstorm specific policies at the national level that would reduce HIV/AIDS and STD transmission in the next two to five years. Respondents then rated them according to their potential impact on HIV/AIDS, STDs, and their political feasibility. The results of this study was discussed on a NCSD-hosted webinar on April 25, 2011.
