Under minimal supervision, programmatically responsible for the design, development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of organizational development and capacity building services to healthcare organizations around the country according to grant‐ funded deliverables, expectations, standards, and measurements that build employee competencies and support a high performance workforce. Supervises a team of staff that design, develop and deliver professional consulting, coaching, and facilitation activities to healthcare organizations on a national basis to improve HIV/STI prevention strategies and LGBTQ cultural awareness. Collaborates and coordinates with other organizational development and capacity building programs. Reports to and collaborates with funding organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), among others.
The Denver Prevention Training Center is seeking a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) Training Manager (the official institutional title is “Learning and Development Manager”) to lead our newly funded HIV/STD Disease Intervention Training Center (DITC). This position will be responsible for the design, development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of HIV/STD disease intervention training to state and local health departments. The position will supervise a team of staff that delivers professional training, consulting, coaching, and facilitation activities to DIS staff on a regional and national basis. Past DIS and training experience required and management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge and application of project planning, organizational development, and implementation. 2. Ability to lead and supervise a team of organizational development consultants and trainers. 3. Excellent oral and written communications skills. 4. Knowledge of Instructional Design models such as ADDIE model and Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. 5. Ability to analyze organizational structures, responsibilities and teamwork. Computers and Technology 1. Ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications. 2. Ability to use audiovisual equipment and apply the use of multi‐media into presentations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, in education, organizational development, applied behavioral science, public health, instructional design, or other related field. A combination of experience, education and training will be considered.
Typically five (5) years of organizational development experience to healthcare professionals with an emphasis in consulting‐ based activities includes peer‐to‐peer coaching, facilitation and training design, development and delivery. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
