Position Title: Manager, Digital Communications
Reports To: Director, Communications
Salary Range: $62,428 – $68,670
Classification: Full time, Regular

Join a dynamic and growing organization doing impactful work for those on the front lines of our nation’s STD public health crisis.

Reporting to the director, communications, the manager, digital communications will support the development and implementation of strategies and content to grow NCSD’s audiences and raise the visibility of the impact of NCSD’s work through social media, email communications, website, and other digital channels. The manager, digital communications will focus on leveraging NCSD’s digital channels and tools to streamline and strengthen the execution of communications strategies.

Here is what you will be doing:

Email Campaign and Website Communications

  • Draft, curate and edit content for weekly newsletter and other email communications
  • Set up e-mail blast communications in Mailchimp and create design and text elements
  • Contribute ideas for newsletter stories, campaigns, and blogs, and draft content as needed
  • Act as point-person for website updates, using WordPress to post blogs, updates, events, job postings, and announcements
  • Monitor website and email analytics to improve performance and provide performance data for funder reports
  • Assess tools used for email distribution and advise on how to improve systems
  • Work with Membership Services & Engagement person to maintain contact management system in Neon and Mailchimp

Social Media

  • Build support and visibility on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram) for NCSD by developing social media strategy, refining NCSD’s voice on social media, and advising on new opportunities for engagement
  • Build opportunities to highlight NCSD staff and member stories, programmatic successes, upcoming events, and news updates in alignment with our communications strategies
  • Write and curate content, schedule all social posts, and engage on social platforms through retweets, comments, and active monitoring.
  • Create graphics for social media posts using Canva, Adobe Suite, and other tools.
    Amplify posts from NCSD and partners and coordinate NCSD’s participation in key awareness campaigns and days
  • Create social media toolkits and resources to help stakeholders share our work to grow our audiences
  • Monitor and collect social media analytics to improve performance, advise strategy, and provide performance data for funder reports

Communications Support

  • Provide editing and copywriting support to NCSD Communications team
  • Serve as clearinghouse managing communications requests from other NCSD staff and partners
  • Support NCSD senior leadership to amplify their voices and leverage and respond to communications opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned, particularly related to the larger goals and objectives within the communications and special initiatives division of NCSD

Here is what you need to know:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field and between 3-4 years of experience working in health communications or public health
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience working with website content management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Committed to working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
  • Ability to think creatively, follow intuition, take initiative, and be proactive
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as attention to detail
  • Experience and willingness to work cooperatively in a team

This position is a full-time and includes a generous benefits package, including a retirement match and employer-paid health insurance. This position is partly funded by federal grants and is contingent on continued funding.

NCSD does this as the voice of our membership. We provide leadership, build capacity, convene partners, and advocate.
