For STD Awareness Week 2021, the National Coalition of STD Directors and Diagnostics Direct are partnering to donate 2,000 Syphilis Health Check tests to NCSD members. Syphilis Health Check^TM tests are the first and only CLIA waived tests that detect Treponema pallidum antibodies in human whole blood, serum, or plasma and take ten minutes to process. These tests should only be performed on patients who do not have a previous history of syphilis. These donations are often in bulk, which may be 20 to 200 Syphilis Health Check^TM tests donated per site at minimum. Donation recipients will be required to write a brief post-donation blog of how they used SHC to screen patients for syphilis, in exchange for receiving the Syphilis Health Check^TM donation. All supplies are subject to the availability of stock.

This donation would be ideal for:

• Any STD testing event occurring during STD Awareness Week 2021
• A facility that already has protocols in place to use Syphilis Health Check^TM tests
• A facility that could put protocols in place in time to use the syphilis Health Check^TM tests as part of a testing event in April 2021

Areas these tests would be ideal for are:

• Rural areas that are experiencing an increase in syphilis
• Areas with high rates of maternal and congenital syphilis
• Areas near urban centers that are experiencing increases in syphilis
