Welcome to Your New Home, DIS.
We’ve curated this space just for you.
You shared at the DIS Mini Conference, and we listened. Here is your new home to connect with one another.
As we work to build out this page, feel free to step in, take off your shoes, and get comfy. We’ll link all recent DIS updates, desk resources, the DIS MyNCSD community, and more down below.
If you haven’t already, join THE network for DIS in MyNCSD – simply create an account to gain access to access member-only conversations happening. Be sure to add the DIS Community to view resources and best practices being shared by DIS across the country!
Introducing NCSD's all-new DIS vibes newsletter!
The new DIS newsletter will be all DIS vibes. A little pick-me up for our busy days, if you will, this will be a space that is uniquely for us DIS. Think of it as the conversations we have in the bumpy state vehicle on less than a quarter tank while we’re speeding to pick up our client who told us 14 minutes ago they’re ready to get treatment right now and are only available for the next 34 minutes after you’ve been trying to reach them for weeks. Whew.
DIS Desk References
Coming soon – here, you’ll find all of our frequently used desk (or edges-crumpled car binder) resources in one place including CDC treatment guidelines, syphilis staging references, case definitions and more.
What’s new in DIS-Land?
Upcoming: Workshop Series – STI Service Integration into Incarceration Facilities
Are you a DIS that works closely with incarcerated populations? You may want to check out our upcoming series focusing on STI service integration into incarceration facilities (IFs). In our first conversation, we’ll hear from a DIS at Public Health Seattle-King County who facilitates testing and supports treatment in area IFs. Register here.
Expect fresh resources
Now that we have our own DIS space, you can expect us to link our frequently used sites and resources here over the next few weeks alongside updates to existing resources. In the meantime, you can still access NCSD’s general resource library that is laden with gems here.
DIS Certification
DIS Certification development is well underway in partnership with the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE), the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and is supported through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through a Cooperative Agreement
