This newsletter was developed as part of the CDC-DASH initiative, Expanding Partnerships and Disseminating HIV Prevention Materials to Reduce HIV and other STDs among Adolescents through National Non-Governmental Organizations (PS16-1603).
The initiative was created to increase education of key stakeholders on CDC-developed approaches to school-based programs for creating healthier adolescents (10-19 years old) by reducing HIV and STD infection.
This month’s newsletter features blogs from our partners at National Association of School Nurses (NASN) on sexual health education and Alba Alvarado’s, NCSD’s summer intern, experience at the 2017 National School-Based Health Care Convention; as well as CDC’s tool on a step-by-step process to create or revise a scope and sequence for sexual health education. The initiative’s upcoming conference and workshop presentations are also highlighted.
