Fourth Coronavirus Supplemental:
Democrats continue to move on a fourth coronavirus supplemental bill while Republicans remain hesitant to take up another coronavirus response bill. In this package, Democrats are considering addressing infrastructure including highways, bridges, expanding broadband, and improving drinking water systems. Additionally, Democrats would like to see increased funding for community health centers as they respond to coronavirus.
On Thursday, April 2 Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the formation of a bipartisan House Committee to oversee the administration’s distribution of the $2 trillion coronavirus relief funds. Speaker Pelosi chose House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn to lead the panel. While the Speaker can propose a select committee, the House must still pass a resolution to set up the committee, which House Republicans do not seem ready to vote on.
